REBRANDING THE TROJANS

”Thank you for listening to us, brainstorming with us, researching for us, and producing high quality branding guidelines, graphics, pictures, and videos for us. While this is impressive, I am most grateful for your work in unearthing and telling the many stories that have pulled on our community's heartstrings and built school pride.

- Art Ebert, SPS Superintendent

A story of THE TROJAN

Why is Sturgis called the Trojans? Ask them, look in the history books, and you’ll get the same answer… “We don’t know.” But we do know what a Trojan is; a battle tested warrior and someone who looks out for the well-being of their community. When Sturgis superintendent, Art Ebert, came to HYPE for a rebrand it was our job to capture Sturgis Trojans IN ACTION, doing what they love, while incorporating how important Sturgis Public Schools is to the community and how important the community is to them. We branded them with a simple tagline, “WE ARE FOR YOU,” words that we discovered in the final verse of their fight song. This tagline speaks for past, present, and future Trojans who love the Sturgis community and want to grow and prosper with it. The Trojan helmet we created incorporates a small lightning bolt on the ear. This lightning bolt is the official logo of Sturgis “The Electric City,” and serves as a reminder that school and community are a powerful team.

WOMEN’s sports

Digging into the history books and bringing to life stories of the past helps unite a school system and the community they represent. The history of women’s sports is fascinating and it brings to light the resilience and commitment to excellence that Sturgis was built on.
